Research or Expanded Forecast Service:

• All minor inquiries from current subscribers are, of course, free.
• All minor inquiries from non-subscribers that can be answered in minimal time are also free of charge.
• Short term research (hours in scope) is $35/hr, $100 minimum
• Medium-term research (for a season) is negotiable, depending on scope of work, but is a minimum $1000.
• Long-term research (multi-seasonal contract) is negotiable

New Products?

One of the most important offerings in these services is the future upgrades and products. So, what new products and upgrades may be coming? Note that the timeline of new products and services coming online is directly correlated to the funding level... that is, the number of individuals/companies signing up for services. In short, YOU determine the advancement of the products! By signing up and encouraging other interested parties to sign up you increase the rate of product advancement! So, here's a list of just some of the product additions/upgrades Millennium Weather is working toward or has completed:

• Automated graphics interface to TRANTECH. This has been completed for the 2001 season and NEW graphics have also been added!
• Forecasts twice daily under nominal conditions, more frequently under threatening conditions. Currently, forecasts are made once daily, late in the evening.
• Addition of Millennium Weather forecast graphics. This was completed for the 2003 season
• Millennium Weather (not just TRANTECH model) strike probability chart.    This was completed for the 2003 season
• Additional graphics, to include, but not limited to: Track map of analog storms, track map of other models, track range map showing theoretical bounds of future track of current storm.    Track of analog storms available as of 2001 on Tier 5 subscription web site!
• Continued research to provide better forecasts from TRANTECH.    New data file in 2004 should improve TRANTECH forecasts!
• Continued research for improving seasonal forecasts.    New analog parameter database should assist in the improvement of seasonal forecasts!
• Wind radii forecasts (which will also improve point-location wind forecasts).
• Atlas of hurricane activity by location.    Atlas further delayed due to system constraints, but new system in place as of start of 2004 should make implementation possible sometime during the next year!
• Climatological research.
• Forecasts for other basins (note that only Atlantic Basin, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean forecasts are currently produced).

There are also other reasons to sign up with Millennium Weather, besides the all-important life and property issues:

• Without a strong customer base even the "free of charge" portion of the Millennium Weather pages may have to be discontinued in the future due to cost. This will end all access to any Millennium Weather products, including TRANTECH, the only privately run and publicly available tropical cyclone model!
• Your involvement directly impacts the rate of product advancement. So, even if no product is currently offered that suits your needs, one in the above listed improvements and enhancements or one that you may request from us is only likely to ever become available if you sign up with Millennium Weather now. Otherwise, funding will be low, and product advancement will be slow. So, your signing on with Millennium Weather will be an investment in future development! The advancements of the past few seasons should drive this point home!
